plug-and-play
is an electronics term that refers to products that can be safely installed without professional and immediately used,
like electronic consumer products.
By implication, such products may subsequently be unplugged and removed or repositioned with equal ease.
In the context of Open Building, plug-and-play refers to consumer-oriented infill products
that attach to but are freely located within the Support.
